About AntiVirusDon

Our Mission

AntiVirusDon was founded with a simple yet powerful mission: to help users everywhere make smarter decisions, through approachable guidance and free tools that make auditing a password, generating a secure credential, checking a suspicious link, and hardening a device clearer, more rewarding, and more practical.

We believe that everyone who goes online, from first-time home users to seasoned IT admins, deserves access to accurate tools, comprehensive resources, and trustworthy guidance. Our platform bridges the gap between confusing threats and confident, well-informed decisions about antivirus software and malware protection, phishing and email security, passwords and encryption, VPNs and network security, endpoint hardening, and staying safe online.

Through our free collection of tools, we help users make informed decisions about password strength, secure credentials, data-breach costs, suspicious URLs, file integrity hashes, and open network ports. Every tool is designed with real-world applicability in mind, tested against the day-to-day realities of protecting, auditing, and securing a device, and continuously improved based on user feedback. To go deeper, explore our Cybersecurity & Cryptography museum, with galleries on classic malware and defenses, landmark breaches, encryption and cryptography, and the people behind modern online safety.

Our Story

AntiVirusDon emerged from a need we experienced firsthand. While trying to sort through conflicting advice and scattered references, we noticed a common challenge: the lack of accessible, accurate tools for the everyday decisions that come with securing a device, running the numbers on a data-breach risk, and making the most of every security audit.

Smart security relies heavily on curiosity and a little know-how, which are invaluable. However, a confident user also benefits from clear answers about how strong a password really is, how far a breach could reach, whether a link is safe to click, whether a file has been tampered with, and which ports are exposed. We saw an opportunity to combine well-researched security knowledge with modern tools to help people make confident decisions about every setup.

Our team began developing tools that we wished existed when we ran our first security audits. Each calculator and guide was created to solve real problems encountered when auditing a password, estimating a breach's cost, or scanning an unfamiliar host. We tested every tool against real-world cases, refined the logic based on feedback, and ensured that the results reflected current, widely accepted security practice.

Today, AntiVirusDon serves active users worldwide, from first-time home users to lifelong security enthusiasts. Our tools have helped people audit passwords, generate secure credentials, estimate breach costs, check suspicious links, verify file integrity, and probe open ports, and make more deliberate, confident security decisions.

Our Core Values

Our Expertise

AntiVirusDon’s tools and guides are developed and maintained by a team with extensive security experience across multiple areas:

Our team includes experienced security practitioners, analysts, writers, and reviewers who bring years of combined experience to tool development. We regularly consult industry references and trusted experts to ensure our content reflects current best practices. Our content is general informational and educational content, NOT professional cybersecurity, legal, or financial advice; results vary. Our tools are educational and run entirely in your browser — nothing is transmitted or stored — and you should consult a qualified security professional for serious incidents before making decisions.

Looking Forward

The future of online safety lies in the intelligent combination of curiosity and proven know-how with modern tools and clear knowledge. At AntiVirusDon, we’re committed to staying at the forefront of this evolution.

Our development roadmap includes expanded tools for password auditing, breach-cost estimating, phishing detection, and threat comparison. We’re also working on multilingual support to serve the global community of users better, and developing specialized guidance for different threat types, devices, and ways of securing them more deliberately.

Most importantly, we remain committed to keeping our tools free and accessible. As we grow, we’ll continue to prioritize user needs, ensuring that everyone has access to practical security tools regardless of their budget.
